Re: 2007 Daylight Savings Time Change

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the reply. I guess I did not give you enough information on my
infrastructure. I am currently running SBS 2003 SP1 and Exchange 2003 SP2.
I just want to update the 5 2000 Pro machines I have using the registry file
provided in KB914387. Would it be possible to just backup the Time Zone
subkey, then delete it and then import the new key provided by KB914387?

Thanks,

The Windows Server 2000 SP4 and Exchange 2000 patches are available for
free, but you have to do some of it manually. If you want the automated fix,
then you have to shell out the big bucks.

Start here to see what you need: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst and
the order in which to apply patches.

You should end up with these two articles for Windows 2000 Server SP4 and
Exchange 2000.

Hi,

I have been preparing to implement all of the updates needed to change my
DST settings. I have 4 Windows 2000 computers that I will need to update.
KB914387 gave me the information to create the new key that needs to be
imported into the registry. Then the KB article goes on about how I can
do
it with Group Policy...etc. Can't I just export a backup of the current
key,
delete the key and import the new key using the registry editor? I also
know
how to refresh the current control set and that will not be a problem. I
am
just looking to do this as easily as possible. Also is there any order
inwhich I need to apply these updates i.e. server then exchange server,
clients? Please advise.

Thanks in advance,
