Re: SBS2003 upgrade/rebuild (Swing migration?)

I have used the Swing Migration for over two years now. Works great.
No problems restoring Exchange or user files. Buy the kit, read the
documentation, try to swing your server at your office if you want to
experiment. Last swing I did had 30 workstations. I had no questions
from end users. Either they were well trained "Don't bug Jim" or
things went really well. Things actually went really well and they got
a few thngs fixed when we went from SBS 2000 to SBS 2003. Things like
better remote access and smart phone options.

Hi Guys,

After taking over the IT for our customer from another company (who
installed the network) I need desperately to upgrade the server's HDD's.

The O/S,exchange,AD.. everything is on the main partition (C:) and its only
10GB, so the server is having major problems running and keeps crashing out
and corrupting data faster than I can free up space.

I need to leave the company with as little down time as possible, for this
reason I was going to try a 'Swing Migration'. However, i've not tried one of
these yet and was hoping for some feedback from someone that has or that has
any other ideas on how to do it?

The HDD's are 2 80GB drives mirrored on a RAID card, the server and network
in general is of a pretty poor standard but it is only 2 years old.. the guys
that installed it truely rode them for all their worth! (and have now gone
bust, but not before losing my customer 3 years worth of data). For this
reason I want to make it an easy experiance as it possibly can be... so any
help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Ryan
