There are many many different ways to organise your partitions, and varying opinions on the "right" number. Most (I think) will agree that you want _at least_ OS + Data.

Disk quotas on users personal folders might be another reason for an additional partition, as these can only be set at the partition level. R2 has an alternative mechanism to disk quotas, FSRM, that is more granular.
