I am confused RE the setup...So you have 1 inbound box for the whole
company? Or will individuals have their own email accounts as well?
If only 1 inbound box...is there a reason for this or is it just how
it has always been done? If so, you can mail enable a public folder
so that email is sent directly to the folder, just make sure a user
does not use up that email address. As for outbound, how many people,
computers will be checking it? It sounds like you would need Outlook
rules to move items from each users sent folders to the public
outbound folder. If you do have multiple email accounts for users,
then you don't need a pop connector. Have your ISP direct your mail
exchanger record (MX) to your public IP address. If you are running
dynamic ip, I have used a configuration of a reouter that handles the
dyndns updates and point the MX record to the dyndns setting. Your
outbound SMTP server would be your ISP's mail server. If you have,
and want to keep all the mailboxes on the remote server, you can use
the POP3 connector in Exchange. I don't recommend this setup becuase
it only checks the mail every 15 minutes or so (however you configure
it) and can use more resources. Also, you have twice the management
involved in setting up mailboxes on both servers.
The dyndns setting also allows your users to use mail.mydomain.com/
exchange for OWA. For RPC over HTTP to work, make sure your cert is
issues to mail.mydomain.com, not myserver.myinternaldomain.local.
No experience with ORFilter, but what AV are you using. I prefer to
have my AV and Aspam integrated, with the IMF filter as an added
layer. Many on the boards will recommend Trend Micro.

Hello guys.
Right now am in the process of transforming my company's IT system
from Novell 4.x+Linux+Tobit David 7.x to MS Server SBS 2003.
I got pretty much a lot done. Including transfer of 50GB of emails
(drawing office does not like to strip attachments from emails). I had
to drug all emails from Tobit by hand on to disk and save it as eml.
Then via outlook express import to outlook and then synchronize with
exchange. Never again ;)
However I am still trying to figure out best way to organize Company
In and Company Out inboxes. This is how we had it done on old system.
I need it for my directors. It gathers all inbound/outbound email
traffic. I already know that Exchange has system of delegating. What I
would like do is 2 public folder inboxes that would gather inbound and
outbound emails automatically. I would like to avoid Outlook rules and
have it done via exchange configuration if possible. I use Native Pop3
connector from MAPILab to download emails then I distribute it to my
users. Does anyone one have some smart concept for that problem?
2 other problems.
For now I use local domain within company, server is configured to be
used behind adsl modem/router. All required ports are opened. I have
used Dyndns to create domain so people can easily remember address to
access OWA, which works by the way. What does not work is Outlook over
HTTP and Download Connection Manager.
I have followed few tutorials regarding outlook configuration with no
success.
I tried to configure it with IP of the router and local domain as
shown in tutorials.
Is it because I don't have fully qualified domain name bounded with
our ip ?
Our full domain name is for external web page.

I have found ORfilter, which seams to be a great tool as it supports
many RBLs, does anyone have some experience with it ? I hope it will
do a good job together with IMF.
I have set up IMF to 5 in both fields. Do you think that will be to
aggressive ?
That is my initial questions to you guys.
Thank you for any response. I appreciate good job you do here by
helping people like me. Starting their journey with SBS.
