Step 9 in that document fails because in step 6 on the same page the
EnableUnicastDotLocal
file is created and it contains commands that try to update or create file
"local.1" in directory "/etc/resolver/" and that directory no longer exists
in Mac
OS X 10.4 ("Tiger") or in some 10.3 versions that have a particular update
installed.
Apparently the "resolver" is no longer necessary in those newer versions
and
creating the local.1 file is no longer needed.
As posted by the previous person you will still need to disable SMB signing.
