Hi,

Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.

From your description, I know that when you visit http://companyweb, you
get error ¡°Internal Server Error¡±. If I am off-base, please don¡¯t
hesitate to let me know.

The issue appears randomly, it may be more complex than expected and time
consuming. Thanks for understanding.

Please let me know the following to make the situation more clearly:

1. Does the problem occur on all users or some of them?
2. When you visit http://companyweb on the SBS server, does the same issue
occur?

Please take the following steps to narrow down this problem:

Step 1: Please take your time to rerun CEICW wizard. This wizard helps to
configure network and publish website correctly.

For more information, please refer to:
825763 How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server
2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825763

Step 2: The problem occurs when the current installation of Windows
SharePoint Services is not running Windows SharePoint Services SP1.

To resolve this problem, you can upgrade the current installation of
Windows SharePoint Services to Windows SharePoint Services SP1. To do this,
visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=875DA47E-89D5-4621-

Companyweb Web site after you perform a disaster recovery in Windows Small
Business Server 2003

Step 3: This issue may occur if the content databases in Windows SharePoint
Services are not updated correctly during the installation of the Windows
SharePoint Services service pack or of the security update for Windows
SharePoint Services 2.0

To resolve this issue, use the Stsadm.exe command-line tool to force an
upgrade of the content databases. To do this, follow these steps, as
appropriate for the version of Windows SharePoint Services that you are
running.

Windows SharePoint Services 2.0
1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. At the command prompt, type the following lines, and then press ENTER
after each line:
cd /d %commonprogramfiles%\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\60\Bin
stsadm -o upgrade -forceupgrade
3. Type exit to exit Command Prompt.

SharePoint Services Web site after you install a Windows SharePoint
Services service pack or a security update

If the problem still exists, please help me collect the following
information for further research.

1. Collect IIS Log:
1) On Exchange Serves, open IIS MMC, right click Default Web Site and then
click Properties.
2) Click Website tab and then check Enable loggin
3) Stop the Default Website and RENAME the existing IIS log files under
C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\W3SVC1.
4) Restart the Default Website and reproduce the problem, which will
generate new IIS log file with the exact error.
5). Go to the following folder on Exchange Server:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\W3SVC

2.Collect IIS Metabase
1) On Exchange Server, install .NET Framework Version 1.1:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-
8157-034d1e7cf3a3&DisplayLang=en.
2) Install MBExplorer by installing IIS 6 Resource Kit Tools:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=56FC92EE-A71A-4C73-
B628-ADE629C89499&displaylang=en.
3) Once it is installed, access it from Start, Programs, IIS Resources,
Metabase Explorer.
4) In the left pane, right click ''LM'' (under your server computer name)
to choose ''Export to file'', and then save it as IIS.mbk.
5) Compress this mbk file and send it to me for analysis. Please let me
know the password if you set on this iis mbk file.

3. MPS Report
1) Download MPS report tool from:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_SETUPPerf.EXE
2) Run the MPSRPT_SETUPPerf.exe on the server box.
3) Wait for 10~15 minutes.
4) Open Windows explorer, navigate to
%SYSTEMROOT%\MPSReports\Setup\Reports\cab\
5) Send the .cab file to me.
