Hello,
Not sure if this will help in your situation, but I had a similar problem
with Google desktop prompting for a username and password everytime it was
started. The only way I could stop this happening was to uncheck the
"require authentication" option on the "outgoing requests" tab of the
properties page of the ISA server. Then I had to create a rule to allow
access to the internet for the ip address of the workstation running the
google desktop client. Not the most secure solution is the world, but it
did the job.

I did run the CEICW several times - All Internet Access is working great
from
all clients. The problem is only with Google Desktop Search that works
but
is not able to display local search results in a browser. Normal google
websearch is working correctly. I have emailed you the screen capture of
the
error page.
Furthermore; if i go into a webbrowser on my client and input this
address:
http://127.0.0.1/ it takes me to the root website on our sbs server!
This problem is present on all client machines

Hello Sumegh,
Thank you for posting here.
According to your description, I understand that google desktop search
does
not display local search results correct on SBS client machines. If I
have
misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if we
can
resolve this issue:
Step 1: You have to rerun the CEICW to make sure your SBS 2003 server
have
right network configuration. Go through the follow KB and Rerun CEICW
again
carefully.
How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825763/en-us
Step 2: configure IE proxy
1. Open Internet Options in IE
2. Click Connections tap, click LAN settings
3. Tick Bypass proxy server for local addresses
4. Click OK twice.
Then test this issue.
If the issue persists, please kindly help me collect some information
for
further investigation:
1. Please capture screenshots on the error pages and send the pictures
to
me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
2. Does this issue happen on all SBS clients?
3. Try to reinstall the google desktop search and then test this issue.
Is
it fine?
4. Can you access Internet from the problematic client?
5. Does the google desktop search display Internet search results
correct?
Hope these steps will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
