Joining Vista to an SBS2003 domain from a remote location over VPN

Anyone know what the steps are to joing a Windows Vista Business
Edition PC to an SBS2003 domain from a remote location.
With XP you could make a VPN from the desktop, join the domain restart
and then at the logon promt use Dial-up Networking(VPN) connection to
logon to the network and then logon as the domain user.
Can't see this option from the Vista logon screen...
Thus far I've joined the domain from a local user session and then
restarted and then logeed back on as the local user and added the
domain users account to the local Administrators security group...
....but how are you supposed to logon initially as the domain user ?
Can't see anything at the logon screen to say dial-up or VPN
connection..so just get a message saying no logon servers available to
service your logon request..
Ideally I could go into the office to do this...but I shouldn't have
to should I ?
Jim.
