After search the web, I found hundreds of foumous External Modems in the
HCL, For example:

Rockwell DPF External Modem
GVC External 28800 Fax Modem
Logicode 9624 Data-Fax External
Rockwell DPF External Modem

Please understand we only provide technical support for the hardware in HCL
list.

<Unless you have a modem on the now-defunct HCL, or perhaps one in the
<Windows Catalog, you will get no further help from them. As I said before,
<you will need to buy one of those approved modems, install it, have it not
<work, then ask again for help. I understand that you are convinced it is
not
<hardware, and I believe you, but they are not going to budge. Get an
<approved modem (or a Brooktrout board).
