<Hi Lex,
<
<Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.
<
<From your description, I know that after you reload the SBS 2003 server,
<you cannot join your client computers to the new domain. If I am off-base,
<please don¡¯t hesitate to let me know.
<
<Because some clients cannot join the domain, some can join the domain but
<have errors, the problem may be more complex and time resuming, thanks for
<understanding.
<
<Please let me know the following information so that we can understand
your
<situation more clearly:
<
<1. How did you reload your SBS server? Did you have a clean installation,
<keeping the server name and doimname as before?
<
<2. Did you disjoin the client from the domain before reloading your server?
<
<Please understand that our newsgroup is an issue based service, meaning we
<usually respond to one question/issue per post. We will focus on the Event
<ID 5513 error first.
<
<Event ID 5513 appears when you join to the domain but the local security
<database is corrupted on your computer. Please take the following steps to
<narrow down the problem:
<
<Step1: Check the DNS and made sure the client was pointing toward server.
<
<Step2: Disjoin the workstation from the domain, reboot and then rejoin the
<domain.
<
<Step3: Reset the problematic computer account.
<
<To do this, please take the following steps:
<
<1. Open Active Directory and Users.
<2. Expand Doman.local, my business, Computers, SBSCopmuters.
<3. Right click the problematic computer and select Reset Account.
<4. Click OK.
<
<Step 4: Please try to modify the registry to see if the problem can be
<resolved.
<
<1. Export the netlogon service registry subkey
<(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon) from a
<machine that has successfully joined the new domain.
<2. Import the subkey to the workstation experiencing this problem.
<
<If the problem still exists, please help me collect MPS Report on the SBS
<server and problematic client for further assistance.
<
< 1. Visit
<http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd
9
<15706/MPSRPT_DirSvc.EXE to download the file.
<2. Run the MPSRPT_DirSvc.exe on the server box.
<3. Wait for 10~15 minutes.
<4. Open Windows explorer, navigate to
<%SYSTEMROOT%\MPSReports\DirSvc\Logs\cab\
<5. Send the .cab file directly to me at v-robeli@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
<
<If you need further assistance, please don¡¯t hesitate to let me know.

<<Hello,
