Thanks for the update - I'll have to look at that. I haven't paid enough
attention to know that there are separate firewall settings between Vista
and OneCare 1.5, but that seems like a really good opportunity for conflict
and confusion.

Check the advanced firewall settings on the Vista box. GRE is disabled
in
the built-in Vista Firewall by default. (Not sure if there's another
setting that's messing up L2TP or not, but that GRE one will kill
outbound
PPTP VPN for sure. FYI, GRE is also disabled by default in the OneCare
firewall on XP).

Hi all, here is a strange one! I have a fully functional sbs2003
working
just
right! Im using XP PRo clients and all works well in the LAN and also
when
im
out i can VPN with my XP Pro Laptop and open outlook etc.
Vista Business from Action Pack, drop into my HP laptop and installed
with
no problems. All updated and i manually joined onto the domain with no
problems. When i try and VPN from in or out of the LAN i get error 800.
tried
with PPTP and L2TP and no luck. Its now driving me nutts can someone
please
advise me on what is wrong. I cannot see any problems with
routers,firewalls
nor sbs2003 as it all works fine with XP.
Thanks in advance
Paris
