Thanks for your answer.
In vmware i yust want to run one application aka "the personal backup
appliance".
Is it better to install the player or the server version (with the securit
in mind).
It doesn't have to run all of the time, but only for backing up and
restoring diffrent
clinets quickly.
What are the security threats?

Yes, it installs. It likes a lot of RAM, and it is not a best practice
because of security concerns, but it works.

When you try to install vmware on the server vmware worns not to instaal
on a domain controller.
