If you can, get into the task manager and see if the svchost.exe is running
at or near 100%. If it is, there are some hotfixes you can try: 914810,
916089, and 927891 which PSS indicated to me supersedes 916089.
They are all inter-related with WSUS and XP Clients on the domain. Clients
also do this.
I believe that this is one possiblity.
On the other hand, if the server is completely unresponsive, as in hardware
frozen, do you have a USB HDD that you are backing up to with the built in
SBS backup? If so, then check your logs to see if the very last one before
it froze was a verify on the USB drive. I have seen this one a number of
times. Excluding the USB drive from backup fixes it.
Just a couple of thoughts.

SBS2003 SP1 Premium Edition server. This server has become unstable
recently. It stops responding and requires a powereon/off cycle to
recover (echhh!). Nothing in the event logs that would indicate why this
is happening. This has happened twice in the last week.
Can someone please give me a hand with this?
