Sharepoint SSL port change from 444 to 443

Hello,
I'm attempting to change the companyweb's SSL port from 444 to 443 to avoid
firewall issues while employee's are traveling, and have run into some
trouble.
Currently, the site is configured to require SSL encryption, and any
requests via HTTP are met with a '302 object moved' redirection to the SSL
port 444. This is important for easy client access since I don't want to
burden my users with remembering to type https://<address>:444 . However I
can't seem to get IIS to redirect to port 443 instead of 444.
I've configured the site to listen to both 443 and 444, and both are working
fine with the exception of the http 302 redirection pointing to the old port
444. I've tried everything I can think of with no effect. No matter how the
site is configured, as long as SSL encryption is required, the site redirects
to https://<address>:444/ instead of the desired standard 443.
Once the site is redirecting properly to port 443, I will remove the
listener from 444. FYI, the site has a dedicated private and public IP, so
here is no possibility for an IP/port conflict with another site/process.
Any ideas? Is there something within the sharepoint configuration that
dictates this behaviour?
I hope I have explained this problem accuratly, please ask questions if I
forgot to mention something.
Thanks,
Scott
.
