Jim,
Have you or SG ever had the problem of not getting either of those
events to show up (1119 or 1869) to confirm that the new server is
advertising as a GC? It happened to me on the first migration. I'm
doing another one tonight and was wondering if you had ran across it.
Thanks!

Hi
Have a small network with Windows Server 2003 and about 6 XP PCs that now
needs to move to SBS 2003 R2
I know that an SBS server can be added to an existing AD domain
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884453) but this looks pretty complex..!
So - question:
Is there an elegant way of doing this which keeps the PCs "intact" ? (ie
without having to create new profiles etc)
Or do I have to remove PCs from existing Server 2003 network, shutdown
existing server, install new SBS server, rejoin PCs to new domain and
reconfigure/sort profiles ?
migration stuff that is. If you did not know I am agreeing with SG.- Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -Any thoughts appreciated !I think I can do it in an hour. I have not put a stopwatch to it. The AD
