Hi Thomas,
Thank you for posting here.
From your post, I understand that some folders (inbox, sent etc) are inEnglish instead of Dutch. If I have misunderstood, just post back to let me
know.
According to my knowledge, most of the standard folders are initially
created and named by the first client to access the corresponding mailbox
after it is created. Thus, if the first client you use to access a new
mailbox is a French client, standard folders like the Inbox or Sent Items
are given French names. After a folder is named, it retains that name
unless you explicitly change it from the client.
Also, the server creates store messages by using the language of the client
that accessed the mailbox for the last time. If you log on to your mailbox
by using an English-language version of the Outlook client, the store
creates the next warning message in the English language; if you log on to
the same mailbox from another client by using a Dutch-language version of
Outlook, the next store warning message is created in Dutch.
To change the language of these folders, you can use either of the
following methods:
Method 1: Use /resetfoldernames switch from Outlook
=======================================
1. On a proper language Outlook client, such as Dutch, recreate the
Exchange profile.
Note: The mailbox folders are still in English.
2. Restart the Outlook with switch resetfoldernames.
a. Click Start->Run.
b. Type "outlook /resetfoldernames" in the box (without quotations)
3. Then, the folders names are changed to Dutch.
Method 2: Recreate the mailboxes.
=========================
1. Use Outlook or exmerge tool to export mailbox to PST file.
To use the Import and Export Wizard in Outlook:
a. On the File menu in Outlook, click Import and Export.
b. Under "Choose an action to perform", click "Export to a personal folder
file (.pst)", and then click Next.
c. Click to select the MAPI folder that you want to share, and then click
Next.
d. Save the PST file.
To use Exmerge, refer to the following article:
174197 XADM: Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Merge Program (Exmerge.exe)
Information
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=174197
2. Open the PST file from some other Outlook client to verify if we can
access inbox in the PST file.
3. If the PST file is good, go to ADUC (Active Directory Users and
Computers), right-click the problematic user and then click Exchange tasks.
Select remove exchange attributes.
4. Right-click the user again and then click Exchange tasks. Select create
mailbox.
5. Log on the mailbox on the client with proper language setting. The
client can be either OWA or Outlook.
6. Import PST back into mailbox using Exmerge or Outlook.
Also, there are some third-party tools can help you change the language
settting. Take a look at the following link:
