Gentlemens:
This might sound a silly question to you , but must make sure that I am
in
the correct track.
I have installed an upgrade to SBS2k3-R2. Because I wanted a fresh
installation, I choose to format the servers disk drives to upgrade to
Raid
5 and installed the original SBS2k3 disc that came in my pre-installed
server
Inmediately after installation of SBS2k3, I proceeded installing the
SP1
dvd
followed by the Technologies disk.
So at Current State you are SBS2003 SP1
And Everything works Companyweb OWA OMA RWW And Running the Fax Wizard
doesn't break?
Yes, everything is breaking. COmpanyweb dows not serve and
Either SP1 broke things or they weren't working to begin with.
(Hard to tell without seeing things myself)
Here is the error massesge with this pages
"You are not authorized to view this page
The Web server you are attempting to reach has a list of IP addresses that
are not allowed to access the Web site, and the IP address of your
browsing
computer is on this list. "
ONLY after that do you want to install the R2 Upgrade.
(Make sure things work.)
Here are my installation problems as follows:
1) When I access Start>MyComputer>Properties the General properties
tab
reads WIndows Server 2003 Service Pack 1.
Well it will still say this even after R2
Does "Update Services" show up in Server Management?
(if Not R2 is not installed.)
Yes, but it says
"Update Services cannot function properly because the Configure E-mail and
Internet Connection Wizard was not finished. To enable Update Services to
function properly, open the To Do List and complete the Connect to the
Internet task. "
OK this is No Biggy, just means you have to Run CEICW and finish the
install...
Actually after you mention this..
Did you Complete the "TO DO LIST?"
This is a Requirement for Everything to work.
Make sure you at least run CEICW before you try to check functions of
things..
This is very confusing. Is this correct? Could this be an indication
that
the Upgrade did not completed successfuly? I will spect to read R-2 or
something like that.
R2 is a Seperate part that needs to be installed
(Preferably IMO after SP1 and all patches are done.)
PAtches? DO you mnean Windows updates?
Yes Updates.
2) Also, When I go to the wizard, mus tof the links do not work. FOr
example, Add USer wizard returns an error- "Some required files are
missing
or can not be located".
Sounds like your installl didn't completely install
3) Connect to the Internet wizard does not work.
OK this is what I'd do...
First Install SBS2003.
Check everything to work Wizards etc etc etc.
Then install SP1
Check everything to work..
Then and ONLY then install the R2 part
(And make sure UpDate Services shows up in Server management and works)
Does that help?
Russ
Please, your opinion is greately appreciated in advance.

Thanks for your help.
If you haven't run the To Do things
Mainly CEICW then run it.
And I have to ask?
Have you Installed SBS before or is this your first time?
