Re: SBS - Server 2003

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Aha! Different Question. You can add the server as a member server and use
it as a file server. And since you have it already, your call if it should
be a DC or not. If you want/need Terminal Serivices for your users, most
suggest NOT implementing TS on a DC.

My SBS is secured and doing well. I just wanted to add a file server and I
thought I'd use the server 2003 since I have it.

Hi Kevin:

No, only one SBS is allowed. The only real purpose of a second DC in
the
same physical location is to allow users to login, but the question is
often
asked "login to what?". If the SBS server is down and it stores your
user
data, your exchange data, your sql data, and your sharepoint data, most
would want to spend whatever funds are available to try to bullet proof
their SBS server.

would you recommend installing another SBS server instead of the
server
2003?

Hello. I have a SBS 2003 domain and I need to add a second server.
Can
I
add
a server 2003 standard edition to the SBS domain? Currently SBS
2003
is
the
first and only server.
