Change Default SMTP address

Greetings all,

I am running a SBS 2003 server and have a problem with changing email
addresses. I have one user who receives a ton of spam and we decided that
the easiest thing to do would be to modify her email address a bit. Her
userid is Pat. I change the SMTP address from pat@xxxxxxxxxxxx to
patty@xxxxxxxxxxxx but a few seconds later the system adds the old original
email address back and sets it to the default again!

I am sure this has to do with a policy setting, but I am not sure which one
and how to adjust it. Could someone please shed some light on this?
