RE: Permissions question

Hello Customer,

Thank you for posting here.

According to your description, I understand that some clients can not log
on domain. If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to
let me know.

Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if we can
resolve this issue:

Step 1:
First of all, I suggest you disjoin the client workstation from the domain
and then use connect computer wizard to join the domain again to test this
issue.

a. In the client computer, right click My Computer select properties.

b. Click Computer Name, click Change button

c. Select Workgroup and input a workgroup name. Then click OK twice.

d. Restart the computer, then access connect computer wizard via
http://SBSServerName/connectcomputer

e. Go through and finish the wizard, then restart the computer

f. Then test the issue.

Step 2:

1. Please restart computer while network cable is connected and then press
F8, select Safe Mode with Networking to check if you can log on domain.

2. Please create a new domain account on SBS, then logon the problematic
client with this new account.

For the folder is locked issue:

1. Please disable all Anti-Virus, Backup software services on SBS 2003 in
case these software are scanning and the program get locked.

2. Please make sure there is no other user run this program.

If the issue persists, please kindly help me collect some information for
further investigation:

1. Please capture screenshots on the error messages and send the pictures
to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

2. Do you install ISA on your SBS server? What is the edition?

3. How many NIC on your SBS?

4. Save the application event log and system event log as evt files on the
problematic machines and send to my mailbox: v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope these steps will give you some help.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Terence Liu(MSFT)
