And, if interested, TechData has 10 remaining TD part #235436. This is the
item that was used in my deployment and have yet to have any issues. They
are far and away the largest fax users of all my clients on
SBS........throwing out an average of 100+ faxes a day.....yes, I am
surprised :-)

Part number correction!
After yesterday's call to Cantata, I looked up the 994-113-50 number in my
Ingram Micro account and it is listed as discontinued. I called Cantata
again today and they said that they ran out of those cards and the
replacement is the 999-169-13 TruFax 200-R PCI MSF card. If you look at
their product number guide at
http://www.cantata.com/products/part_no._guide/index.cfm, it shows that
part number under the heading of "TruFax for Microsoft Shared Fax RoHS
(for Europe only)." The 994-113-50 card is listed under "TruFax for
Microsoft Shared Fax (for non-Europe countries only)."
I asked the sales rep and he finally figured out that the wording of the
"TruFax for Microsoft Shared Fax RoHS (for Europe only)" heading is
misleading. It is there because Europe requires RoHS-compliance and not
because the card will not work anywhere else.
So, the correct 2-channel board is now the "TruFax for Microsoft Shared
Fax RoHS (for Europe only)" RoHS-compliant "999-169-13 Refax 200-R PCI
MSF" card.
I hope that clears up any part number questions. He is going to let the
webmaster know about the confusion.

Ken,
I called them yesterday and they told me it should be part number
994-113-50 for the TruFax 200 2-channel analog card in the USA. Your
904-030-50 product number is for the TR114 which is at its End-Of-Life.

from Cantana.
You should purchase part number 904-030-50 and download these two
things.

Hello!
I know that some folks do not like internal cards for faxing, but the
modems I tried (MultiTech MT5634ZPX-PCI, external MultiTech MT5600BA,
and three US Robotics Courier V. Everything models (002806-00,
3CP3453, and 3453B)) have failed to work well on two Dell SBS 2003
servers and my clone SBS 2003 SP1 server using either the on-board
serial port or an add-in Siig or Digi serial card, especially when
trying to receive from a Brother MFC 8300 and some other
multi-function fax machines.
So, I am left with choosing an internal card that will work better
than an external modem.
I am looking at a Brooktrout TruFax 200 to use with SBS 2003's shared
fax service. The client is not ready for the big leagues and
GFiFAXmaker.
Does anyone have experience with current models of the TruFax boards,
i.e., ones running the Microsoft patch
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919009/en-us and the Brooktrout FSP
update, or the RoHS units that only need the Microsoft patch?
I am looking at this board in particular:
TruFax 200 PCI-R MSF, 2 Channels Analog Loop Start, PCI, RoHS
Compliant, v.17 (14.4Kps), MH, MR
at http://www.cantata.com/products/shared_fax/specs.cfm
I also see another (WAY) more expensive one:
TR1034+P2-2L-R MSF, 2 Channels Analog Loop Start, PCI, RoHS Compliant,
v.34 (33.6Kps), MH, MR, MMR, ECM
http://www.cantata.com/products/shared_fax/specs.cfm
Other than their speeds, the only difference I see between the above
boards is the extra "MMR, ECM" at the end of the TR1034's description.
I am not sure if MMR or the ECM feature would help in fax reception
vs. not having MMR and ECM.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!
Gregg Hill
