Re: Internal FTP site setup

That is true.

Many of the MFP will work with SMB.

However, you might just have to weaken the SMB Signing Policy in the Default
Domain Controller Security Policy to get it to work. Well, at least I have
with some Windows Server 2003 environments. Look in the Security Settings |
Local Policies | Security Options and then look for the 'microsoft network
client' and 'microsoft network server' entries.

Thanks Kevin - I might have known that ISA coudn't resist sticking its
nose in everywhere... :O)

SMB - ? never realised you could use that, don't think the MFP mentions
that possibility (and have to say that the FTP thing has worked like a
dream on the SBS2000 box for a couple of years).

I found some good IIS info, shall post links here when things cool down on
the install front.

also, does your new scanner/MFD support SMB? I use that instead of FTP at
one site.

Do not assume that ISA is not involved in internal access. Generally to
make FTP work you have to go into the proper ISA FTP rule and turn off
'read only' option.

About to setup an internal FTP site (because our scanner needs to have
a folder on the server to 'ftp' scans to).

Bit of a basic question, but how do I do it in SBS2003 with IIS (I
guess ISA Server 2004 won't be interfering as it is internal access
only?)

Thanks
