what specific brand/model of usb hard drive are you using? some are better
than others. Also, are your USB ports on your server USB2 (and not USB1.1)?

By different of our customers we had a strange problem with USB hard
disks.
We're using Windows 2003 Small Business server with SP1 and Exchange SP2.
If
we plug in the servers an USB hard disk, we get the following error:
-- The Operation was canceled due to an internal Error
- The Operation did not complete. Check the system event log for more
information on the error
But in the Event Log there is no solution found. On the website of
Microsoft
there describe this problem and the had an hot fix available. But i can't
use
this hot fix, it don't will install. Because he tells me that i had
install
SP1 and the had integrate the hot fix in SP1
What i had try:
- Format the drive and remove all partitions and remake this again (on the
server or a normal desktop)
- Check the drive with check disk fails
- Drive will Works good on another pc
On the internet, anybody tells me that i must make an extended partition
with logical drives and i don't must make primary disks. It doesn't works,
i
get the same problem.
I have this problem by 10 costumers with an HP Prolaint Server ML110 and
ML150. Nothing is to find about this problem. I don't think that I the
only
person is with this problem??
Anybody had an solution??
