hmmm, I got a bounce trying to reply to you. The header shows my email
bouncing around rapidsite mail servers for a bit and I cannot connect to
mail.yourdomain.com:25

Either your ISP or yourself are blocking port 25 into your server.

and rcvd, you should get a reply from me mentioning this post.

all looks fine on the zone so I've gotta ask about the period of time
between when the info for the zone was updated and when your tests were
performed. Even though you may have a short refresh time on zone info the
action of caching name servers may be the cause of your varied results.
Has it since settled down?

I am experiencing the following issue:
In Outlook (2007) I have two mail accounts:
The default Exchange one and a Gmail (POP3) one.
Using my default Exchange account I can send emails to my Gmail one
without problem but if I do the opposite (from Gmail to Exchange) the
emails disappear.
To make things weirder if I go to the Gmail web page and send an email
to my Exchange account the email is delivered without problems; doing
the same from the MSN or Hotmail pages (two different accounts: MSN
POP3, Hotmail WEB) does not work; the emails get lost in cyberspace.
I also tried to send emails to our Exchange account using other
different accounts and providers but no luck. Finally I am able to
send email from Exchange to Exchange with no problems.
I tried to re-run CEICW several times but no luck; the "email domain
name" is set as "mydomain.com".
I should also add that the Domain we registered is hosted by Verio so I
modified the site MX records as follows:
www.mydomain.com./86400/IN/MX/1st/mail.mydomain.com.
mydomain.com./86400/IN/MX/2nd/mail.mydomain.com.

I also added a new row:
mail.mydomain.com./86400/IN/A/ xx.xxx.xxx.xxx (the fixed IP address of
our SBS connection).
I have the same issue on boxes using both XP SP2 and Vista.
Did I modified the MX records correctly? If yes what else could be
wrong?
Thanks in advance and
Happy Holidays
Stefano Colasanti
