How do I get the Client machine to prefer the Wireless Ethernet Adapter to the SBS PPP adapter (VPN) when it is using applications? The vpn connection makes itself the default route for your PC. You can stop this by going into the properties of the VPN connection, into network/tcpip and then advanced and untick the 'use default gateway on remote network' option. This then only routes traffic down the tunnel destined for the subnet corresponding to your VPN obtained ip address, all well if the resources you need to access are on that subnet too, otherwise some clunky route adds are needed to make it work.
I'd like it to prefer the Wireless first, then if it cannot make a connection, to go over the VPN.
Right now, when I log into the VPN, I cannot use MSN Messenger. When I log into the VPN, MSN Messenger is forced offline and can't reconnect. When I log out of the VPN, Messenger comes back online through the Wireless Ethernet adapter.
How do I change the preference?
