Re: Cannot receive incoming faxes on Win2003 SBS Premium Edition

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

First, thanks for your reply.

It´s very odd, if I call the modem from a normal telephone, I can hear it
ring and then I can hear the modem sounds on the telephone. But when I try to
send a fax to the modem, I can hear the modem making normal dialing sounds,
and then a busy signal sound.

I haven´t been able to figure out what that means.

do you hear the modem trying to pick up when a fax comes in??
Did you go through the Fax Server wizard after installing it?

Hey,

I'm an IT-Administrator for a small company, an external company which is
a
Microsoft Gold Certified partner sold me a Trust fax modem for to use with
my
Windows 2003 Server SBS Premium server. I installed it but couldn't get it
to
work. I questioned the company, and asked them why it was not on the HCL
for
my server. Their only reply was an order confirmation a week or so later
for
a new USRobotics PCI internal fax modem, which is on the HCL list.

Installation and configuration of the modem was a snap with the Server
Managament included in SBS, and I could send faxes straightaway both from
the
server and from all clients via a shared fax printer.

My problem is that I still have not received a single fax. I have tried
searching the web for days, read newsgroups. The only solution available
is
the Microsoft KB article stating to increase the number of rings before
the
fax answers. That didn't help and neither has the hours and hours I have
spent configuring and testing everything I've come across.

Does anyone have a solution for this?
My modem is a U.S. Robotics V.92 PCI Modem Model: 5671 (USR805671)

Thanks in advance,
Murple
