We use it all the time. Didn't realize others had trouble with it.
Specifically we use the built-in dual Broadcom NIC's on Dell PowerEdge
equipment. Never had an issue but guess I should be knocking on wood?
The majority of our installations include Dell latitude notebooks
and/or Optiplex desktops with the gigabit NIC's....and they can suck a
server dry on the local LAN with large file transfers. But mainly the
redundancy is the big 'plus'.
