Hi Terence,
Thanks for the reply. This is actually a desktop computer but that should't
matter. I will try this next week (will have to go back to the customers
site). I will post back to you

Hello Joe,.
Thank you for posting here.
According to your description, I understand that one mobile computer cannot
remember the IE proxy settings when it out off office. If I have
misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if we can
resolve this issue:
1. Run gpedit.msc on the computer
2. Extend User Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows
Components->Internet Explorer
3. Double-click Disable caching of Auto-Proxy scripts in right pane
4. Select Enabled and click OK to finish.
5. Extend User Configuration->Windows Settings->Internet Explorer
Maintenance->Connection
6. Double-click Proxy Settings in right pane
7. Input the IE proxy settings here and click OK to save
8. Test this issue
If you have created a GPO to set proxy for domain clients, please find this
GPO in Server Management on SBS, and then remove this problematic account
from the Security Filtering.
If the issue persists, please kindly help me collect some information for
further investigation:
1. Run rsop.msc on this computer, extend User Configuration->Windows
Settings->Internet Explorer Maintenance->Connection, Double-click Proxy
Settings in right pane, capture a screenshot on the outcome and send the
picture to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
2. Try to use another domain account to log on this computer, is the issue
reoccurs?
3. Try to use a local account to log on this computer, is the issue
reoccurs?
Hope these steps will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)

| We shuffled several computers arround in the office to different users.
One
| desktop which was orginally setup for user "A" was moved to user "B". The
| desktop had already been joined to the SBS domain using connetcomputer
when
| orginally given to user "A". I set the new user "B" up in add users in
the
| controlpanel and gave him Admin piriv on that desktop.
|
| All is well except that when B the new user wants to go out on the
internet
| he has to manually go into Tools/internet options/connection/lan settins
and
| recheck the proxy server box eachtime he logs back in at the start of the
| day. It will not "remember".
|
| Any ideas!
