I would like to find an inexpensive all in one device that works with
the SBS 2003 Fax server.
Alas, no, I don't think this is possible. The fax server needs to talk to a
fax modem. And I don't know of any inexpensive all-in-one devices that even
have Server 2003 drivers.... HPs and Dells don't.
They should either use the fax server included in SBS (with a fax modem) or
a third party fax program (such as GFI, etc). I'm not sure what your/their
goal would be in integrating an AIO with SBS Fax anyway...that doesn't
really make any sense.
I would prefer to get one that allows this over the network port, but
if I have to install it via USB to the server it can be done.
Again, doubtful, unless it's just for printing (and you do *not* want to
install the huge software on the server at all - just a print driver).
Ideally I would like to get something like the Dell 3115cn and put it
on the network and be able to use the fax over the network to SBS
2003 if this is possible.
In reality the Dell is out of the customer's budget and I don't know
if the fax service will work like that.
Open for any suggestions.
They should pick - either SBS Fax, or an AIO that is attached to a
workstation.
