Obviously you cannot use most of the 'outbound' filtering and
enforcement tools, but I assume you know that since you are only
referring to 'firewall' issues (which I generally define as inbound
traffic management)
In other words, if by firewall (inbound traffic) you mean things like
port forwarding, port blocking, port scan detection, etc. then there is
no reason that the TZ170 can't work. I use it in multiple places right
now (specifically for the secure wireless and dual wan config which I
like a lot).
If on the other hand you include all of the other 'features' in a TZ170
when you say firewall, like virus management/enforcement, machine level
web filtering restrictions, etc, etc. then no, it cannot, nor can any
other product that I know of, utilize many of those features when
installed in a isolated dmz environment.
