We have a Server with XP Pro here. This is a frinds office. Seems that we
used some Home machines but now I do remember having to do the PW thing a
lot. Why we switched to XP Prop and full versions of Server and Exchange.
I just offered them some extra copies of XP PRO Update I have lying around,
so they should be fine.
Thanks for the help

Hello
You cant attach XP Home, you can have XP Home on the network BUT it is
such an inconvenience with username and passwords (keep getting prompts)
In addition forget all security aspects ( one of the reasons you got a
server aint it...lol ) as Home cannot join a domain therefore active
directory security is out of the window. Sounds very tekkie but the bottom
line is you will still have a glorified 'peer to peer' network.

I just got a call from a friend whose office is installing SBS2003. They
are
being told by their tech guy that they are required to have XP Pro to
attach, but I am sure we had Home machines attached here at some point
(not
now). How do you attach a Home machine?
