RE: multi user messageing software - but not e-mail

They do have SBS 2003, The software is OfficeMate. Live messenger could
work, but would the login be just for Live Messenger, or would they have to
be loged into the workstation. Right now they do not use unique logins (I
didn't set the system up). They want to keep the logins simple, so several
users login in with the same name.

Hello Harvey,.
Thank you for posting here.
According to your description, I understand that you want to setup a simple
message system without email. If I have misunderstood the problem, please
don't hesitate to let me know.
Before we begin analyze this issue, please let me know whether your
customer has installed SBS and what kind paperless practice management
software they have installed.
Based on my research, I think the Windows Live Messenger 8.0 can meet your
request.
1. Text talk and leave messages
With the Windows Live Messenger 8.0, you can talk to your contacts. Just
add their e-mail addresses and you can see if they're online or offline and
even share emoticons. You can send and receive messages while you appear to
be offline. And if you really are offline, your contacts can still send you
messages and you'll get them next time you log in
2. Sharing Folders
Drag a file onto a contact's name. You've just created a Sharing Folder.
You and your contact can get to all the files in the folder any time, even
if one of you is offline.
Please download it from the following page:

Hope info above helps.
Thanks and have a nice day!

| I have a customer that would like to have a simple way to leave messages
for
| others in the office. He would like for them to be able to pick them up
from

on

| They have just installed a paperless practice management software.

| Thanks for any ideas you have!
