I think I just get more confused with each reply.

Could you answer the following please:

1. You are logging in to terminal services of a Windows 2000 Server
correct?

2. The Windows 2000 Server is actually running as a Guest OS of VMware
on your Small Business Server 2003 correct?

3. The Windows 2000 Server is running in full Terminal Server mode and
not just administrative mode correct?

4. You are not trying to use any of the features below which are
unavailable on Outlook 2003 when running via a Terminal Services
session correct?

-Offline store (OST) files.
Features that rely on the OST (for example, Cached Exchange Mode and
Offline) are not supported with Terminal Services.
-Forms Designer and the Microsoft Visual Basic® Scripting Edition
(VBScript) editor.
You can view a custom form, but you cannot design a new form or revise
an existing form.
-Changing the Time Zone from within Outlook.
Changing this setting in Outlook updates a system setting.
-Changing Zone security settings from within Outlook.
Changing this setting in Outlook updates a system setting.
-Changing the status of a Microsoft Exchange Client Extension.
You cannot change the status; however, if the Exchange Client Extension
is already on, it should work correctly.
-Adding stationery that was not included with Outlook as part of the
Terminal Services installation.
-Outlook animations are disabled.

5. If you are attempting to use Word as your editor within Outlook
(which I highly recommend *not* doing) you have Word installed and
configured within Terminal Services sessions as well correct?

6. Please clarify, when you attempt to open MS Outlook 2003 and you get
the error message....does Outlook continue to open? Does it close down
immediately? What happens?

7. How was Outlook installed on the Terminal Server? Did you manually
do it so that it would be configured properly for terminal services or
are you letting the SBS login scripts install it when the user logs in?

Given that at the moment at least this appears to have very little to
do with SBS (since you are actually running inside of Windows 2000
server via terminal services) I highly recommend posting your issue in
a more appropriate forum where you might get a better response. There
is very little to go on at the moment but it sounds like you need to
reinstall Outlook 2003, making sure that you have configured it
properly to run in Terminal Services.
