Re: VPN will not work




I just ran a port scan on the address you (inadvertently?) listed in
your post and it appears that the necessary ports for VPN access are
not accessible. In a lot of cases the GRE port can cause issues but
that is not the problem in your case (at least not at the moment), it's
the primary VPN port.

Depending on your external wan configuration:

1. Check that your router is set to allow the required ports, and if
using NAT insure that the ports are being forwarded to your SBS server.

2. Insure that your SBS Server firewall is set to allow access to those
ports

3. Insure that your SBS VPN configuration is setup and running (i.e.
that you have PPTP or L2TP connections prepared, available, and that
the RRAS services are running).

The first thing I'd do is attempt to connect to the SBS server via VPN
from *inside* the LAN. If that works then you know the issue is with
your router/isp connection and can focus your energies there. If it
does not work then the opposite is true and you can focus on the server
setup.
