What protocol are they using to get access to the internal LAN? VPN

I have SBS2000 with an HP OfficeJet 6313 hooked to the internal lan and
a print server defined on the SBS server for it.
My external LAN is a wireless ADSL router/firewall that provides
internal access to the SBS server to it wirelessly connected are couple
external laptops.
I wish to be able to let those laptops hooked to the external lan use
that printer.
Any trick / suggestion would be highly apreciated.
