Hello Toxic,
Thank you for posting here.
According to your description, I understand that you can access the FTP
server on SBS from an XP client, but you cannot access the FTP server on XP
from SBS. If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let
me know.
Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if we can
resolve this issue:
1. Please rerun the CEICW wizard on the SBS server carefully going through
the following KB, it will correct the network connection:
825763 How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server
2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825763
2. Please disable the firewall on this XP FTP server and then test this
issue.
If the issue persists, please kindly help me collect some information for
further investigation:
1. Try to use IE on the SBS server to access the FTP on the XP client.
2. Try to access this XP FTP server from another client. What is the result?
3. Is ISA server installed on the SBS server? Which edition?
4. Can you telnet port 20 from XP to SBS? How about telnet from opposite
direction
5. What kind of FTP server are you using?
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)
