Don't put this out of your mind completely, Vijay - you may yet experience some issues.
If you're satisifed with the way things are working now that's great, but keep checking for updates from either Dell or Broadcom. The NIC firmware is in fact broken - there is no way the end user can fix it, allthough some relief is possible depending on exactly how the NICs are being used. The update you refer to is one form of relief but it doesn't solve the core issue.
I spent two weeks with Broadcom NIC support to isolate the failure.
Broadcom is engineering a solution, and I believe expecatations were that it would be available sometime in December, possibly quite early. I'd expect Dell to have it on thier site as soon as it's available.

ok. I'll eat humble pie. Mr. Connor was partially right.
I turns out that I had not installed the required TOE (TCP/IP offload
Engine) update provided by dell and the Microsoft hotfix -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912222
So basically, the NIC hardware was not working properly. It seems to be all
fixed now.
Thanks!
