I think I'd start by looking at the NIC configuration on the new
workstation. If it's set to AUTO, reset it to 100 MB Full Duplex (assuming
it's connected to a 100 MB switch, not a Gigabit Switch). If that doesn't
fix it, try Half Duplex.

there is some serious lag.
I know I'm going to be pretty vague here, but i'll give it a shot
anyway.
I have an SBS server. It's running one main program that my company
uses. I just bought a new, much faster than before, client computer to
run said program.
The way i've always done this, is by mapping the program's directory on
the server onto my client.
i create a desktop shortcut to the .exe, and bam. I'm up and running.
All of this got up and running, but now there's some serious lag
running the program. It's a database based program. Flipping through db
entries used to be quick and responsive. Now there's an hourglass for a
few seconds every time I try to go to the next entry.
I know there's probably a million answers to this question, but are
there any suggestions out there that can be suggested as to what to
look for and check?
I'm directly connected to the same router in the same connection as
before. Just a new computer.
Thanks much!!!
