Hi Steven,
Thank you for your effort,
I performed the steps you mentioned, but I don't get an error message
on step c. I tried to backup with no exchange server in the selections,
with no effect with the same error message...
Do you still have anything else to try? thanks in advance!

Hi Michel,
Thanks for your email and update.
From your application log, I find the following error message:
======================================
Event Type: Error
Event Source: SmallBusinessServer
Event Category: (5)
Event ID: 5634
Date: 2006-11-25
Time: 3:47:05
User: N/A
Computer: SRV01
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 5634 ) in Source ( SmallBusinessServer )
cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this
description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is
part of the event: The event log file is corrupt.
=======================================
Based on my research, this issue may caused by SBS backup selection script
(Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Backup\Small
Business Backup Script.bks) created by the Backup Configuration Wizard
contains references to the Exchange Recovery Storage Group.
So please Use NTbackup to remove Recovery Storage Group reference from the
backup selection script
a. Start -> Run -> NTBackup -> Advanced Mode -> Backup tab -> Job -> Load
Selections.
b. Select Small Business Backup Script.bks
c. Click OK on the error message:
Some invalid selections found in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small
Business Server\Backup\Small Business Backup Script.bks.
d. Job -> Save Selections
I hope the above information helps.
Have a nice day.
Best Regards,
Steven Zhu
