Hi,
Thank you for posting here.
Form you post, I understand after you installed Acronis True Image 9.1 on
your Server, you encountered a couple of issue, for example: Service can
not startup, Windows Installer isn't responding, etc, As this issue is
related due to Acronis True Image, I strongly recommend you that contact
Acronis support, they may have a first hand info on this issue. Your
understanding is great appreciate.
Personal, I'd like to provide the following steps to troubleshoot this
issue:
1. Restore from the latest system backup set.
2. Update the latest update for System.
3. You may try a clean boot to see if anything changed. As this issue may
occur because software conflict. To do so:
1. Click Start, click Run, type in "Msconfig" (without the quotation
marks), and click OK.
2. In the System Configuration Utility (Msconfig) window, click to select
the Selective Startup.
3. Click to clear the check marks from all of the choices below Selective
Startup.
4. Click OK to close the Msconfig window. Click Yes when you are asked to
restart your computer in order to enable the changes.
Hope this helps, if anything unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Have a nice day!
Best Regards,
Chace Zhang (MSFT)

|
| Im having a big issue with Windows Server 2003 SP1.
|
| This server is just used as a MSSQL server.
|
| The installed programs are Adaptec Storage Manager, for the Mirror
| RAID. Bit Defender Anti-Virus for Fileserver, and MSSQL Server 2000.
| This is a live system that hosts about 40+ websites for our clients.
|
| Everything worked fine untill I installed Acronis True Image 9.1
| executive. I installed the software, did a restart and when the server
| came back up, a lot of services were having problems starting,
| including IIS, MSSQL server, Volume Shadow Copy, Windows Installer,
| etc.
|
| Now most of the services will fail after about 10 minutes, I can start
| them and theres no problem. The only real service I need is the SQL
| server, which I managed to get working., theres a few services that
| wont start like the COM+ System Application.
|
| But the rest of the server is screwed up pretty bad, for instance when
| I go to the Disk Manager I get a Not enough sotrage is available to
| complete this operation. I get this error message all over the place
| when trying to use windows functions. I also cant uninstall or install
| anything, I always get an error message saying that Windows Installer
| wasnt responding, I manually started the service and still no luck. I
| have plenty of space, 55 gigs on the main C: drive and 45 gigs on the
| D: drive. I also have 4 gigs of ram in that server, only about 500mb
| are being used at the moment.
|
| During bootup these are the errors I get in the event log:
|
| A critical error occurred in an MS DTC component therefore the process
| is terminating. The category field identifies the component that
| encountered the error. Please contact Microsoft Product Support. Error
| Specifics: d:\nt\com\complus\dtc\dtc\msdtc\src\cservice.cpp:436, Pid:
| 1976
| No Callstack,
| CmdLine: C:\WINDOWS\system32\msdtc.exe
|
| The COM+ Event System ran out of memory during its internal processing,
| at line 44 of d:\nt\com\complus\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp.
|
| Windows couldn't log the RSoP (Resultant Set of Policies) session
| status. An attempt to connect to WMI failed. No more RSoP logging will
| be done for this application of policy.
|
| The World Wide Web Publishing Service service terminated with the
| following error:
| Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.
|
|
| My first instinct was to uninstall Acronis, but since I cant get the
| windows installer to work, I had to do it manually. I followed the
| acronis manual removal instructions, I made sure all the acronis
| executables were gone and the services were gone also. Nothing changed
| after the uninstall.
|
| I looked into this problem some more and read stuff about the page file
| being corrupted. I increased the size of the page file, moved it to a
| different hard drive, and cleared the old page file. No luck.
