RE: Installing Exchange 2003 on separate machine than SBS 2003

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,

Thank you for posting back.

Since you want to install Exchange 2003 on addition server, the RWW link to
OWA should not work, and you need customize the web page. Since this a
break and fix Newsgroup, it's not suitable to provide the method to
customize RWW. Your understanding is appreciated

The GAL should be worked, as Exchange attributes stores in AD, and
unfortunate we can not link Exchange DB to another server or workstation.

Hope this helps. Have a nice day!

Best Regards,

Chace Zhang (MSFT)

| I had previously purchased the Exchange Server 2003 and CALs for a
complete
| Exchange install. It was after that purchase that I had decided on going
| with SBS 2003 Premium. I have all the CALs that I need for SBS. So, I
think
| I have everything that I need. You say that the Exchange wizards in SBS
will
| cease to function. What other things will break? Will users be able to
use
| OWA after logging into Remote Web Workplace (e.g. will the link to 'Use
my
| company e-mail') still work? Will address books be pulled from Exchange
or
| from SBS when using various areas of SBS? Is there a way to install the
SBS
| version of Exchange on the SBS server and point to the datastore on
another
| server? I need as tight an integrated experience (for the user) as
possible.
| Thanks for your help.
