Hi,
Thanks for posting here.
First please understand the client must run with SBS Server in the same
subnet to send fax via outlook.
Outlook does support sending faxes. You should first make sure you have
configured the Fax service in Windows XP correctly and you can use the Fax
console to send faxes. To configure the Fax service client, we should do
the following steps:
1. Install the Fax Service component from Add and Remove
Programs->Add/Remove Windows Components.
2. Type your SBS 2003 server name (for example, type "\\<servername>"
(without the quotation marks)), and then click OK. Right-click the "Fax"
printer, and then click Connect.
3. Go to Start->All Programs->Accessories->Communications->Fax->Fax Console
and make sure you can send faxes there.
If you have configured the fax client on the Windows XP computer correctly,
this issue can occur if the Fax Mail Tranport component is not installed or
corrupted in Outlook. I suggest you perform the following steps on the
client computer:
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Mail.
2. Click E-mail Accounts. Click "View or change existing accounts" and
click Next.
3. If the "Fax Mail Transport" item is listed, delete it.
4. Click Add and then click Additional Server Types.
5. On the "Additional Server Types" page, click Microsoft Shared Fax Mail
Transport, and then click Next. Remove the Fax Mail Transport service from
the list of server types.
6. On the E-mail Accounts page, click Finish.
7. Click Close. Check if you can send faxes in Outlook.

Hope this helps, if anything unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Have a nice day!
Best Regards,

| Outlook 2003 11.8010.8107 SP2 (on an XP Pro machine)
|
| SBS 2003 SP1
|
| The SBS machine will send and receive faxes from the server just fine so
the
| modem and fax setup seem to work.
|
| I'd like to use fax on client computers that are not directly connected
to
| the SBS
| machine but I've tried to set it up on a machine connected but I can't get
| that to work.
|
| I've tried to run the setup on the faxclient from SBS, on the non client
| machine (connected to exchange with RPC over HTTP) and get the message to
| set it up from add/remove programs then install the printer but I can't
| setup the printer.
| From the test machine connected to the SBS machine I can get it setup but
it
| won't send a fax, it seems to try to send from the client not the SBS
| machine.
|
| I tried using the fax # format as [fax:5555551212] but get this error,
| None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient.
|
|
| I've been told the fax will work from either but I'm beginning to doubt
it.
|
| Any help? is it even possible?
|
| Thanks
| Brian
