We are using Windows SBS Server2003 R2 and use DNS to route emails.
How do i set up the server to deliver emails for distribution groups
i.e sales (sales@xxxxxxxxxx) so that a domain user receives a copy of
the message as well.
Currently there is a public folder (Named Sales) which receives the
email but users forget that this exist at times and do not always
check it.
I would like the Public folder to keep the messages as master copies
and then be able to define which users receive a copy of the email.
I have added the users as members of the sales distribution group
hoping that SBS was clever enough to then route the email (as it is
fantastic in every other way with its wizards) but this doesnt seem
to work.
Change the SMTP address on the Sales public folder to something else, and
then create a universal distribution group called something logical - give
it the sales@xxxxxxxxxxxx address.
Add the public folder and any other user you wish, to the distribution
group.
Also i would like the ability to forward other aliases for which
there are no active directory users/groups etc such as
orders@xxxxxxxxxx to forward to specified users too.r
You need to create mail-enabled objects of some kind, and assign the SMTP
addresses you wish. Use other distribution groups or something. You can
define multple SMTP addresses to a distribution group.
What is the best way of doing this?
