Hi, all
I needed to alter our backup settings to save fewer backups due to space
considerations. However, once the Wizard completes, it demands a
verification using username/password. The username/password is not
accepted and after a few tries, the following pops up. I also recall
similar happening with some of the other Wizards several months ago, but I
can't remember which -- oh yeah... Trying to set up/manage the CompanyWeb
does the same thing, though with a different error (available on request.)
Is it possible that some other username/password combo is being requested
besides our administrator logon? Or is something just screwed up?
Note that when I look for
"C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET
Files\backup\55b79170\2502a0a", \Temporary ASP.NET Files\ is as far as I
get. The rest of the path doesn't exist. Far as I can tell, these are two
different problems: One is that Backup isn't getting configured/enabled
properly (due to username/password not being accepted), and the other is
that the Server Management page is failing to show the results of the
operation. But perhaps I'm wrong?
Weirdly enough, the Backup task appears, suitably amended, in Scheduled
Tasks, but it doesn't run except manually. I'm lost!
Here's the error page:
*******************************************************
Server Error in '/Backup' Application.
Access to the path "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary
ASP.NET Files\backup\55b79170\2502a0a" is denied.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the
current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information
about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path
"C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET
Files\backup\55b79170\2502a0a" is denied.
ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider
granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity.
ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5
or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not
impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity
impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically
IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.
To grant ASP.NET write access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer,
choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the
appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the
boxes for the desired access.
