Hi there
I am in a bit of a bind.
I look after a company who has been using Microsoft Exchange. They
got bought out by another company and we migrated them to Lotus Notes.
They run Small Business Server 2003 and the backup software they have
been running is Backup Exec 9.1 Small Business Server edition. I
ordered then lotus notes agent and tried to install it and it would
not install. According to Symantec you can not install the agent on
the Small Business Serve Edition and you need the standard Windows
Server Edition of Backup Exec. The trouble is the standard edition
will not install on SBS 2003.
So as you can see I am stuck and I basically would like to know what
other backup programs you use to not only backup Lotus Notes but also
the server/data/AD etc so I can look at alternatives.
Thanks
Daniel.
What's the real plan here? To keep SBS ? Keep Exchange? Or are you migrating
out of SBS/Exchange entirely?
You have a separate Domino server now, right?
As far as I know, you install agents on the server where the product you're
backing up lives - not on the SBS box itself. But I'm not sure, and I'd take
Symantec's word for it.
