Hello Nev Carter,
Thank you for posting here.
From your post, I understand that your Internet connect will works forabout 4 weeks after you run CEICW and then fails. If I am off base, please
feel free to let me know.
First, to ensure the network is correctly configured, I would like to
suggest you refer to this step-by-step article to rerun CEICW:
825763 How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server
2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825763
Second, to ensure the dial up connect is correctly configured in RRAS, I
would like we perform follow steps:
1. Open the Routing and Remote Access snap-in.
2. Right-click Ports, and then click Properties.
3. In the list of devices, select the modem that the dial-up DoD connection
uses,
and then click Configure.
4. Check "Demand-dial routing connections (inbound and outbound)", and then
click
OK two times.
5. Restart the Routing and Remote Access service.
If the issue persists, please kindly help me collect some information for
further investigation:
1. Is ISA server installed on the SBS 2003 Server?
2. Please capture a screenshot on the error page when RRAS fail and send it
to me
3. Save the application log as evt file and forward to me at:
v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
4. Run netdiag /v on server and send me the result
5. Gather system info on this server and send to me
a. Click Start and then Run.
b. Type in "msinfo32" without the quotations and click OK.
c. Once System Information is up and running, click File and then Save.
Save the system information to a .nfo file.
Hope these steps will give you some help. Please let me know the results so
that I can provide further assistance on this problem. I am looking forward
to your reply. Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)

| I have a small network with a SBS2003 server and 3 workstations running
XP
| Pro. There is an external serial dial up modem connected to the server,
| which is shared over the network. The internet sharing works for about 4
| weeks and then fails. When it has failed, looking at
|
| RRAS/Network Interfaces/Freeserve Anytime
|
| brings up an error message:
|
| Routing and remote Access
| The following error occurred
| 1) The interface is disconnected
| 2) There are no routing enabled ports available for this demand dial
| interface.
|
| Right clicking on the connection and selecting the reason for the
connection
| state being unreachable gives:
|
| All devices are busy. There are no ports available for the interface to
| establish a connection.
|
| The modem is still working fine and the server can be manually connected
to
| the internet from the connection shortcut.
|
| The Internet sharing can be re-established by running the Internet
| Connection wizard again, but fails after a further 4 weeks or so.
|
| Any ideas what I can do to make the internet connection work for more
than a
| few weeks?
|
| Thanks,
| Nev.
