Scott,
I had a similar problem, but my failure occured during the email
configuration during the Internet Config Wizard. It seems that if the Wizard
fails, WSUS is left in this problem status. On mine, WSUS continued to work
propery, just couldn't use the main screen.
The key is to resolve whatever problems (big or small) that are causing the
wizard to fail. Look at the icwlog.txt file and find the somewhat cryptic
error message(s). If checking the KB or googling them doesn't point you to a
problem, consider opening an incident with Microsoft. I've been using the
Small Business + service recently, and really like it. It is free for 45
days at the Silver support level, which gives you unlimited access (during
business hours) via chat to MS techs. They will use LiveMeeting to access
the server directly, look around, and fix it. The annual fee for the Silver
level of service is only $299...a bargain (if you don't mind using only
chat, not the phone for support).
Good luck!

Hello,
I get this message with WSUS when I view it in the server
management
console.
Update Services cannot function properly because the Configure E-mail and
Internet Connection Wizard was not finished. To enable Update Services to
function properly, open the To Do List and complete the Connect to the
Internet task.
When I run the Internet Connection wizard it fails on the Firewall
configuration. We have a single NIC and don't use any firewall services
from
Microsoft.
How can I resolve this issue and get the WSUS working.
