In my experiences you get what you pay for when it's necessary to resort to
these services.
http://www.ontrack.com/ has been the most successfull to my knowledge. I'm
sure they are not the cheapest. I had one "associate" use a bargain company
and got back almost nothing for his consierable money, time, and trouble.
If you'd care to share the estimates, I expect many can appreciate a cost -
benifit reminder of frequent and verified backups.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with or can recommend a service

can recover a HD. I'm getting a broad range of quotes, although most are
similar in the work to be performed.
I have a HD from a SBS 2003 file server that I need to restore a few files
from (non OS files). The HD drive is pretty much inaccessible from the
typical techie bag of tricks.
