Hi,
I have been having issues doing an inline upgrage from Exchange 2000 to
Exchange 2003 on a Server 2000 machine. The reason being is that they
are different versions (sbs and enterprise), so I have decided to go
down the Exmerge route by backing up the mailboxes, uninstalling
Exchange 2000 and installing a fresh copy of Exchange 2003. My
concerns are:
1. How do I totally remove Exchange 2000 entries from AD so the install
of Exchange 2003 is clean
2. When I setup Exchange 2003 what other entries (other than the
mailboxes and public folders) will I need to bring across from the old
Exchange 2000 setup? Ie. what do I need to backup before wiping it
out, and how do I restore the settings when I am setting up Exchange
2003 on the same server.
I dont have the luxury of a second test server to try this on first,
but at least I know I can reinstall Exchange 2000 and restore from
Exmerge if all goes pear shaped.
Please let me know if you can help.
Bryce
