What if I make the new domain xyz.int? Will that allow me to have both
servers up and running at the same time, and allow me to transfer files from
one to the other? Will I need to have a workstation connected to both to do
the transfer?

The standard Office documents should be easy enough to copy to a portable.
hard drive or something similar, the database might be trickier depending on
if its running on MSDE or SQL, if its SQL you can just perform a backup of
the SQL transaction and databases and then do a restore on the new SQL
component of SBS (provided you are running premium), if its MSDE there might
be some internal programatic way that will backup the database (I know most
Sol6 programs have this functionality), if not try the vendor for white
papers on database migration etc.

Word documents, excel spreadsheets, the accounting database. They use the
server for file sharing and printing, and the accounting database is also
on
the server.

You can't run two SBS on the same network under the same domain, SBS has
to
have all the FSMO roles itself. What sort of data are you talking about
moving? user data? databases? files? programs?
More information would probably help determine the best course of action.

Don't want a swing migration. The server was set up incorrectly by
someone
who didn't know what they were doing. There are some user accounts
that
are
corrupt, alot of users have rights they shouldn't, and management wants
to
start fresh. There are alot of duplicate data files in different
places
that
are being consolidated as we speak, so there is a lot of data that
isn't
coming across. I just want to be able to copy the data needed over
while
the
two servers are both up and running without having to use sneakernet to
do
it. Can both of the servers use the same domain name of xyz.local to
do
this, as long as they have different computer names?

The best way is with a swing migration-its well worth the cost:

I have an old Win2k SBS server that I am going to replace with a new
Win2k3
SBS server. Can I use the same domain name on the new server that
is
currently on the old server? If so, how long can I run both
computers
before
any trouble starts happening?
